Agency Description: 

The Mission of JWCH Institute is to improve the health status and well-being of under-served segments of the population of Los Angeles Area through the direct provision or coordination of health care, health education, services, and research.  The mission is being accomplished through a variety of programs and activities, such as: medical outreach and referrals for medical care, HIV services and drug treatment; health education; psychosocial assessment and intervention; primary medical care; family planning services; and research.

A duly elected Board of Directors governs JWCH Institute. The daily administrative duties of the corporation have been delegated to the executive director who is assisted by the finance director, division directors, development officer, and human resource assistant in discharging these functions.

Program Description: 

JWCH Wesley Health Centers provide specialty substance use disorder treatment through a contracted collaboration with the county of Los Angeles Department of Public Health’s Division of Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC).  These programs are offered at separate locations in the community as part of our comprehensive health care.  They include outpatient substance use disorder treatment at our Solutions Family Resource Center and residential substance use disorder treatment for women and women with small children at our Mini Twelve Step House.  Their services include comprehensive assessment, addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention education, skill building for anger management, effective parenting, relationships, coping with life or trauma, drug free social networks and support, and access to resources for healthy living.  Also available are 12 Step meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous as well as urinalysis testing.

The Center for Community Health Downtown Los Angeles is located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles’ Skid Row, a 10-block area where more than 18,000 homeless individuals reside at any given time.

 

CCH delivers medical care in a new way with one record and with an integrated team that is centered on patient care.
