Agency Description: 

SRO Housing Corporation offers clean, safe and affordable single room occupancy housing (emergency/short-term, transitional and permanent) for homeless and low-income individuals.

 

While some units consist of a sink, complete furnishings, linens and a refrigerator, others include a private bathroom and kitchenette. In general, anyone over the age of 18 without a permanent residence and with some form of steady income is eligible to live in an SRO Housing Corporation unit. Experienced and trained security staff monitor all sites 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A number of sites offer accommodations for older or frail adults (aged 55 years and over), people with stabilized chronic mental illness, those recovering from substance abuse, persons living with HIV/AIDS, persons with co-occurring disorders, and veterans.

You must be actively enrolled and housed in the Emergency Housing Program in order to be connected to Case Management or able to participate in the Financial Programs.

Full range of case management services for persons living with HIV/AIDS. As a part of its after-care component, the program also makes available case management services, supportive services, and referrals for its residents.

Short-Term Rent, Mortgage, and Utility (STRMU) assistance is an eligible activity under the HOPWA program. STRMU is time-limited housing assistance designed to prevent homelessness and increase housing stability
