Program Description: 

Case Management Services offers a range of services including Registration, Assessment,Service Planning, Referrals, Transportation and Deaf Services. Transportationoffers free taxi rides to and from medical appointments and assists with public transportation needs. Deaf Services include a case manager fluent in American Sign Language and a monthly series on topics relevant to the deaf HIV-positive community. AIDS Project Los Angeles provides Case Management Services to residents of Service Planning Area (SPA) 4. Required documentation includes diagnosis form, proof of income, picture I.D., and proof of residence.

Program Description: 

Begun as a $35-a-week food voucher program in 1986, APLA’s Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) has since become the nation’s largest network of food pantries for people with HIV/AIDS. NOLP’s pre-bagged groceries include fresh dairy, frozen meats, fresh vegetables and an assortment of canned and dry goods, as well as hygiene items and cleaning supplies. Clients also receive bilingual, one-on-one nutritional counseling and nutrition classes. Fact sheets about a range of nutrition topics and recipes for use with NOLP products are available in all NOLP locations. NOLP operates from four main locations and through five collaborations with organizations in the Antelope Valley, Santa Monica and the San Gabriel Valley. Please note: As of July 1, 2011, clients will need to submit a photo ID in addition to their other paperwork for enrollment or re-enrollment. Basic requirements include diagnosis form, proof of income, proof of residence, an picture I.D. Before visiting your food pantry site, please call 213.201.1600 to confirm hours of operation. A nutritional screening or nutrition class will be required for registration.

To be eligible for Mental Health service you must be registered with APLA, for more information contact 213-201-1621. Mental Health Services at AIDS Project Los Angeles offer a broad range of services, including short-term individual, couples and family counseling, addictive behaviors counseling, on-call clinician hours, support groups (both closed and drop-in), long-term therapy with volunteer licensed therapists and referrals to HIV/AIDS-sensitive mental health providers. All services are available in English and Spanish and provided in a culturally competent manner. Required documentation includes diagnosis form, proof of income, picture I.D., and proof of residence.

Program Description: 

Benefits staff can help APLA clients with a variety of public benefit programs, including Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, Medi-Cal, General Relief and food stamps. Staff can also assist with and accept applications for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). When you’re ready to return to work, staff provides one-on-one counseling to Social Security beneficiaries on work incentive programs; referrals to Vocational Rehabilitation and the California Employment Development Department; and online education and job training resources. Required documentaion includes diagnosis form, picture I.D., proof of income, and proof of residence. If applicable, paperwork from a public benefits office will also be requested.
